Although Infinity Train only aired for four seasons, the creative team planned and outlined eight "books" in total. The season that got the furthest in development was the unproduced Book Five, which was planned as a feature-length film documenting Amelia Hughes' takeover of the Infinity Train.

History

During the course of Infinity Train's run, Owen Dennis revealed at a number of points that he wanted to write an Infinity Train film about Amelia's takeover of the train as part of the planned eight "books" of Infinity Train.

The existence, or rather the planned one, of development on Book Five was first publicly hinted at in January 2021, when the Infinity Train crew yearbook was briefly leaked on Instagram. The yearbook included storyboards depicting Amelia tinkering with the Steward, tearing One-One in half, and using the Steward's weapons to fight someone off-screen. At the time, it was assumed these storyboards were from the then-unannounced but heavily rumored Book Four - Duet.

Following the release of Book Four, Owen Dennis confirmed the film had been planned with a fully written script, but was dropped by Cartoon Network due to lacking a "child entry point." He further commented that he still believed it could be greenlit due to how far it got in the process, so long as demand for the show was demonstrated. This led to a number of viral campaigns to demand more seasons of the series, including FinishInfinityTrain. In response to the April 29th campaign, Dennis released a "frame mock-up" of Book Five.

For a considerable amount of time it was believed that Book Five had been completely storyboarded due to the presence of the images in the crew yearbook. Writer Alex Horab later clarified in a 2023 Twitch stream that Book Five only made it to the script phase and the leaked "storyboards" from the yearbook were actually "fake boards" to provide more visual context for the executives when pitching their script.[1]
