infinity train

The Spotlight is a minor Book Three character featured in "The Musical Car". He is one of the few surviving Stage Light Denizens from the Musical Car. He now resides in the Apex's base car, often used as a tool for Simon.

Appearance

Spotlight is differentiated from the other stage light denizens by being on a stand. He has arms with white gloves, four standing legs for mobility and a stage light for a head with a bulb that acts like eyes. He now has a cracked glass on his lens and a bruised body.

"The Musical Car"

The spotlight denizen tries to get away from the raiding Apex but Grace tips him over. The damaged Stage Light was then accosted by Lucy as it got up and despite its pleading, was ripped off its stand body. Lucy brought him to the Mall Car as an offering to Grace and Simon. Grace briefly used the horrified Spotlight to look at her reflection in the mirror, then ordered Lucy to destroy him by tossing it to the train's wheel.

As Spotlight begged for his life, Lucy asked if she could keep him. Grace was amused by Lucy's suggestion and reminded her of what a null meant. The stage light denizen to her was boring so it means it has no use for the Apex and should be wheeled. However, before Lucy leaves to get rid of it Simon orders her to bring it to his room instead. When Grace questioned him about it, Simon said he wanted to use the null to light a diorama for miniature recreation of the battle of Esmoroth, his fictional trilogy. Lucy than left to install the stagelight, which sadly uttered "I am not a toy."

"The New Apex"

The same cracked Stage Light was briefly seen being shined on Simon when Grace returned to the Mall Car. Whilst unstated, the Spotlight may have been freed after the dissolution of the Apex cult and its anti denizen beliefs.
